Tele2 sees soaring rise in voice traffic after Putin’s Thu address
MOSCOW, Apr 3 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator T2 RTK Holding, working as Tele2, registered a spike in voice traffic in the wake of the address of President Vladimir Putin to the nation on Thursday afternoon, the operator said on Friday in a statement.
“The peak of calls occurred during the first minutes after the speech by Vladimir Putin. In the timespan of 5–5.10 p.m. Moscow time, consumption of voice traffic on the Tele2 network was almost twice as much as the highs of the previous days,” the operator said.
Consumption of voice services fell on Thursday from 3 till 4 p.m., but after the expected start of the address at 4 p.m., calls on Tele2 network rose.
“The address started at 4.55 p.m. and lasted for seven minutes, in the first few minutes after 5 p.m. calls in Tele2 peaked,” the company said.
